Where the agreement comes from

When your firm sends you an agreement to sign, it arrives as an email with a secure link. You do not need to log in to your portal to sign it. Just open the email and click the link, and the agreement opens on a page branded with your firm's name.
Tip
Only open the link from the email your firm sent you. It is personal to you and lets you sign without a password.
Read the agreement
The page shows the full agreement text at the top so you can read it in full before you sign. Below it you can see the signing parties and who has signed so far.
Step 1: verify it is you
For security, you confirm your identity with a one-time code before you can sign.
- In the Verify it's you box, click Email me a code.
- Check your inbox for a 6-digit code. It is sent to the email address shown on screen.
- Type the 6-digit code into the box.
- Click Verify & continue.
If the code does not arrive or has expired, click Resend code to get a fresh one. A code is valid for a short time only, so use it soon after it arrives.
Step 2: sign the agreement
Once verified, the signing box appears. You can sign in one of two ways using the toggle:
- Draw. Sign with your mouse, finger or trackpad in the signature box.
- Type. Switch to Type and type your full name, which is shown in a handwriting style.
Then:
- Add your signature by drawing or typing.
- Tick the box that confirms you have read and agree to the agreement, and that your electronic signature is legally binding. This is required.
- Click Agree & sign.
You will see a confirmation that you have signed.
When you get the signed copy

An agreement can have more than one party. The final signed PDF is emailed to everyone only once every party has signed. So if you are first, you will see a note that a signed copy will be sent once everyone has signed. When the last person signs, the completed document lands in every party's inbox automatically.
Note
Signing an agreement is similar to accepting a quotation, which also uses a secure no-login link. See Accept and sign a quotation.
