Sign in with a magic link (no password)

What a magic link is

A magic link is a secure sign-in link sent to your email. When you click it, you go straight into your portal, so you do not need to remember a password. It is handy if you have never set a password, or you have simply forgotten it.

Send yourself a sign-in link

1. Open your portal sign-in page. You will see the Welcome back screen with the message Sign in to your client portal.
2. Below the email and password boxes, click Email me a sign-in link instead. This opens a short form.
3. Type your email address (the same one your firm uses for you) in the box.
4. Click Send sign-in link.
5. You are taken to a Check your email screen that says a sign-in link is on its way.

Open the link

1. Go to your email inbox and find the new message with your sign-in link.
2. Click the link in that email.
3. You are signed in and land on your dashboard. There is nothing else to type.

If the link does not arrive

Give it a minute or two first, then try these:

1. Check your spam or junk folder. The email can land there the first time.
2. Make sure you typed the exact email address your firm has on file. If you enter an address that has no account, no link is sent, and the Check your email screen still appears (this is a safety measure, so it is not proof the address was correct).
3. Try again. For your security, only a few link requests are allowed in a short window. If you ask many times in a row, later requests are quietly ignored for a few minutes. Wait a short while, then request one more.
4. Each link is time-limited and works once. If you clicked an older link, go back and send a fresh one.
