Your firm

Why there is no upgrade button on your plan

Your firm's own plan is changed for you rather than through a self-serve button. Here is why, and how to ask for a bigger plan.

Where your own plan lives

The Plan and usage screen open from the Admin group in the left menu, showing your firm's current plan.

Your firm is on a plan, and that plan sets two limits: how many Team members (staff seats) and how many Clients you can have. You can see how full you are at any time.

  1. Log in to your workspace.
  2. In the left menu, under Admin, click Plan & usage.

The screen shows your current plan name, a Team members gauge and a Clients gauge, each with a percentage and how many you have left. A chip at the top reads Healthy, Nearly full or Limit reached so you can tell at a glance where you stand.

Note

This screen is read-only. It tells you how much of your plan you are using. It does not let you change the plan yourself.

Why there is no upgrade button

The Team members and Clients gauges with their status chip and no upgrade button anywhere on the screen.

You will notice there is no "Upgrade" or "Change plan" button anywhere on the Plan & usage screen. That is on purpose.

Your firm's plan is set for you by the team who set up your workspace, not through a self-serve checkout inside the app. When you need a larger plan, they change it for you from their side, and the new, higher limits appear on your Plan & usage screen straight away.

There are a couple of reasons it works this way:

  • No surprise charges. Nothing about your firm's own billing changes without a real conversation first.
  • Your workspace stays your own. The app never sends you off to another company's payment page or names anyone else inside your branded workspace.

How to ask for a bigger plan

If you are close to a limit or have already hit one, get in touch with your account contact, the same people you dealt with when your workspace was first set up. Tell them whether you need more staff seats, more clients, or both.

Once they raise your plan, the change is immediate. You do not need to do anything in the app, and no records are affected. Your new headroom simply shows up the next time you open Plan & usage.

Tip

Do not wait until you are completely full. When the top chip turns amber and reads Nearly full, that is the moment to reach out, so a new client or a new hire never has to wait.

To understand exactly what the two gauges are counting, see Understand your plan and usage limits. If you have already been blocked from adding someone, see You have reached your plan limit.
