15 step-by-step guides for banking.

Bank accounts vs cash accounts explained
Learn the difference between a bank account and a cash account in IzzyTap, what the Primary badge means, and which type to add for each real account your firm runs.
How to add a bank account
Set up each bank or cash account your firm uses, so you can record payments against it and later import statements to reconcile.
How to import a bank statement
Upload the CSV or Excel statement you downloaded from your bank, confirm which column is which, and pull the transactions into IzzyTap ready to reconcile.
Rename a bank account or hide one you no longer use
Change the name of a bank or cash account, hide an account you no longer use so it stops appearing in pickers, and understand why your Primary and petty cash accounts can only be renamed.
Get the right statement file from your bank (CSV or Excel)
Before you import, get the right statement file out of your bank: export it as CSV or Excel (not PDF), keep it under 10 MB, and know that IzzyTap never sees your bank login.
How to reconcile your bank
Tick each statement line off against your books, categorise anything that does not match, and lock the month once your balance agrees with the bank.
Tell IzzyTap which column is which
On the map-columns screen, tell IzzyTap which column in your statement is the date, description and amount, choose between a single signed Amount column or the Money-out and Money-in pair, and check the live preview before you import.
Fix a bank import that will not map
Stuck on the 'Which column is which?' screen? Here is how to clear the greyed-out Import button, fix amounts that show the wrong way round, and recover from the 'upload expired' message.
Why some statement lines were skipped or flagged
After importing a bank statement you may see that some lines were skipped or flagged. Here is what the skipped-line and ambiguous-date warnings mean, and why already-imported lines are dropped for you.
What Open, Matched, Posted and Locked mean
An imported bank line moves through four states as you reconcile: open, matched, recorded and locked. Here is what each one means for your books and when a line can still be changed.
Match a line vs categorise it when reconciling
Reconciling gives you two actions for each bank line: Match it to something already in your books, or Categorise it as a new entry. Here is when to use each, and how the suggested match works.
Why your reconciliation will not balance
Before IzzyTap will lock a month, your cleared balance has to equal the closing balance printed on your bank statement. Here is how to read the under or over message and clear the last few lines.
